Steel, German, late 16th or early 17th century
This formidable steel strongbox is reinforced with an armature of the same material. Its elaborate locking mechanism, consisting of nine bolts and various leaf-shaped shields, offered the owner a safe storage place for his valuables.

In 1919 Pablo Picasso made a guitar.
Cobbled together from cardboard, paper, string and wire,
materials he cut, folded, threaded and glued.
Marco Cappelli gave a performance on his "guitar".
The pieces were inspired by the Picasso Guitar Show at MoMA.
